    • The Faith Community Inside the Church
    • the faith community

Bequeathed to the Society of St. Edmund by Alys Enders in 1954, the Island became the new home of the members of the Society of Saint Edmund — headed by Father Jeremiah Purtill SSE — to foster religious and charitable works. For more than 65 years, priests of the Society of St. Edmund have carried out the wishes of Mrs. Enders, in the form of Ministries, Retreats and Church Services.

Today, our Catholic community lives and prays in the rhythm of the Liturgy of the Hours and the Catholic liturgical calendar. You are welcome to attend Mass, pray in quiet Adoration, and participate in prayer. St. Edmund’s Retreat is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Chaste Heart of St. Joseph.
