Valerie Weilmuenster
Engrosser and Illuminator
Valerie’s formal training as an engrosser and illuminator began at an engrossing studio in Chicago. She has been a member of the Chicago Calligraphy Collective since 1979, has served on the faculty of several International Calligraphy conferences, has been exhibited in many juried shows and has her artwork published in numerous publications. She has demonstrated the techniques of Illumination and Gilding at The Chazen Museum, The Snite Museum and the Knights of Columbus Museum. She has been on the faculty of St. Michael’s Institute for Sacred Art at St. Edmund’s Retreat Center since its inception in 1999 and has several commissions on display in the Chapel of Our Lady of the Assumption.
