"It's not about what we do... but who we are—Whose we are."

Today, I want to share a recent encounter I had with a Lutheran pastor which sparked a conversation about hope and identity. During this time of sheltering in place, I hear from many who are discontented by the lack of things to "do." But this discontentment reveals something out of place inside of us—trying to find our sense of self in what we do rather than in our identity as beloved sons and daughters of God. As the people of God, we are called to rejoice in Hope—which is at the core of every human person.
