Director of Music Ministry
Veronica La Vista began studying piano at age five and continued through college. Her interest in music ministry began during her summer term at Dartmouth College where she played the weekly Sunday Mass at Aquinas House. Since this introduction to ministry in 1974, she has served as a cantor, organist and choir director, played in a praise band, studied organ and conducting at Westminster Choir College, taken private organ lessons, and attended various workshops on the role of music in worship. She began playing at St. Edmund’s Retreat in September 2007 after relocating to Mystic, CT from New Jersey. Veronica is married, the mother of five children, and grandmother to three. She teaches English at the Marine Science Magnet High School in Groton, CT, and volunteers at Avalon Health Center.
