Agnus Dei Liturgical Arts
Kelly Schumacher is a 2013 MFA graduate from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. She also holds a BFA and MA from Fontbonne University in Saint Louis, Missouri. In 2013, she started Agnus Dei Liturgical Arts, an art firm dedicated to bringing back classical art that depicts biblical ecclesiology, that is narrative and realistic in style. Her work is meant for churches, to depict the heavenly realities that take place during the Divine Service. She is inspired by the Old Masters, medieval art, the Renaissance, the pre-Raphaelites, and Victorian religious art. Her work has appeared on PBS and in a recent documentary produced by Concordia Seminary. She is a speaker, writer, painter, and illustrator. Her recent illustrated book The Creation, The Fall, and The Promise illuminates the narrative of salvation: God creating the world in seven days, Adam and Eve falling into sin, Christ coming to earth as the Redeemer, the sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism, and then finally Christ coming again on the last day.
