About

Directed by Fr. Thomas Lynch & Barbara Mariconda

At some point, all of us will be faced with suffering – the loss of a relationship or a dream, perhaps a loved one dealing with addiction, a chronic, serious, or terminal illness, - even the predictable losses associated with aging. How can we deal with the challenges that we and family members are confronted with as we walk this path of suffering together? Father Thomas Lynch and Barbara Mariconda, co-authors of “After the Diagnosis…A Guide for Living” lead this day-long session in which they’ll explore what this “path of suffering” entails and how the way in which we choose to walk it can radically change the experience. Participants will learn how the inevitable self-absorption, anxiety, and self-talk that often dominates our lives during troubling times can be transformed into an ability to love at ever deeper levels. Especially valuable for patients and caregivers, as well as anyone who has ever dealt with suffering and loss.
