Taught by John Brodeur
This unique program is a three-day immersion for professional and recreational singers into a selection of Gregorian chants honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is specifically designed to be a slower-paced workshop, conducive to a more retreat-like dynamic. Students will be introduced to the four Marian antiphons, hymns to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Vespers Magnifi cat, the "Stabat Mater" sequence, the ordinary "Missa cum jubilo" chants, and the propers for the Solemnity of the Assumption. Students will have a very special opportunity to sing for the 9 am Mass on the fi nal day of the workshop in observance of the patronal feast day of the Chapel of Our Lady of the Assumption.
