All are welcome to Enders Island, which is a small Island just off the coast of Mystic, Connecticut. Many call our Island home, including residents of our recovery programs and their families. Our Community includes staff, retreatants, artists, military from nearby bases, clergy members on sabbatical, and others who cross our causeway to find peace on our grounds and in the sacred rhythms of prayer and worship around which our daily lives are built here.
St. Edmund's Retreat is recognized as a vibrant Catholic Retreat in the Northeast. Our Edmundite hospitality reflects the words of St. Paul when he wrote in Ephesians 2:19: You are strangers and aliens no longer, but members of the household of God. And, again, when St. Paul wrote in Hebrews 13:2: Do not neglect hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels unawares.
We certainly have experienced many blessings from our many Visitors and longtime friends of the Island. We will continue to pray for you and await your arrival here to share with us the peace to be found in the prayerful setting of this holy place.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Thomas F.X. Hoar, SSE, PhD
President, St. Edmund’s Retreat and Sacred Art Institute
