Description:

 Matt. 15:32-39 and Mark 8:1-9 tell the story of Jesus feeding the multitude. Listening to this story during Liturgy inspired me. For many people, the numbers seven and three have mystical meaning, and that is why I chose to depict three fish. Above all, the Eye of God - Christ Himself - sees us all and nourishes us all. His head and arms form an arch - a door that invites all to His spiritual banquet. The wheat symbolizes the Holy Eucharist - the bread offering through which Christ enters into our midst and into our bodies. The crowd below consists of  interconnected humans who reflect the Image of Christ, but in miniature and reverse. Each human is like an eye, but also lifting up arms and connecting one to the next. The omniscient Eye of God through Christ sees and nourishes us all. His head and arms form a doorlike arch that invites all to His mystical banquet - the Eucharist. The crowd below reflects the Image of Christ, each like an eye, all in communion with each other and Christ.
